The robot enterprises of the expo attracted the attention of many visitors. Among many robot enterprises, a micro servo drive enterprise attracted the attention of the author. How is the servo drive the size of finger joint made? What can the nimble robot hand do on the side? With these questions in mind, Yiou Xin Manufacturing interviewed Cai Yingpeng, founder of Inspire Robots.

Industrial robots continue to grow, core components are still stuck in the "neck" dilemma

In fact, since 2013, China has become the world's largest consumer of robots, and industrial robots have been the top market in the world for many years. Moreover, the annual growth of China's industrial robot market has attracted a large number of foreign robot head enterprises to invest in, in the intensified competition, domestic robots must strengthen technological innovation.

In addition, in recent years, more manufacturing enterprises through research or purchase of robots to enhance their competitiveness. According to the IFR report, the demand for industrial automation transformation in China, South Korea, Japan, the United States and Germany has activated the industrial robot market and promoted the global industrial robot usage density to a large extent. Currently, the industrial robot usage density in the global manufacturing sector has reached 78 units per 10,000 people.

"The output of industrial robots in China reached 148,000 units in 2018, accounting for more than 38 percent of the global output," Miao Wei, minister of Industry and Information Technology, said at the opening ceremony of the World Robot Conference. "In the first half of 2019, the global robot market reached $14.4 billion, while the Chinese robot market was $4.25 billion." However, the development of domestic robots still faces many problems and challenges, among which the core parts "stuck neck" phenomenon is particularly serious. Over the years, the core components of domestic industrial robots have been subject to international giants such as Japan, the United States and Europe for a long time. Relying on imports makes the cost of domestic robots high. In the absence of technological innovation, it is difficult to develop the whole machine industry and downstream integrated applications.

"The localization of core components is a necessary stage in the robot market, and it is also a key area of national support. "The integration of core components, such as servo motors, decelerators and controllers, may be a new trend in future robot development." Cai Yingpeng said.


Micro Linear Servo Actuator endows the robot with a pair of dexterous hands

Servo actuator is a kind of auxiliary actuator indirect transmission device, can make the control speed, position accuracy is very accurate, can transform the voltage signal into torque and speed to drive the control object, equivalent to the "nervous system" of industrial robot.

Aware of the importance of "nervous system", because of the innovation of the launch of miniature linear servo drive. "The system integrates a coreless motor, a planetary reducer, a screw mechanism, sensors, and a drive controller to achieve small size, high power density, and high repeatable positioning accuracy. It has conquered a number of key technologies such as small reducer design and manufacturing process, servo control technology and miniaturization integration, with high technical barriers." Cai Yingpeng points out.

As a matter of fact, the LA series of Inspire Robots Micro Linear Servo Actuator is the original model, and the new LAS, LAF and LASF series are released in this exhibition. Compared with the original model, because the rotation center of the motor and screw mechanism of LAS series Micro Linear Servo Actuator are not in a straight line, they are arranged in parallel through the gear, so the overall length is shorter, and the section size is slightly larger than LA series.

Micro Linear Servo Actuator can be divided into two series according to the function of standard type and force control type. The standard type has the function of feedforward compensation position closed-loop control and positioning terminal motion planning. On the basis of the standard type, force sensor and corresponding signal acquisition and filtering algorithm are added to the force control model, which can detect the actual force of the Micro Linear Servo Actuator.

"In the LA10 series, the entire drive size is less than the size of a human finger, but it contains the motor, reducer, screw mechanism, sensors and drive controller, and the overall weight is only 20g, is the smallest and lightest integrated linear servo system on the market." Cai Yingpeng stressed.

In fact, the internal integration of six Micro Linear Servo Actuator (original) model and six pressure sensors for humanoid five fingers when dexterous hand has been on sale in January this year, as domestic first to achieve the level of commercial production dexterous hand, it has been applied in robot end executor, artificial limbs, education scientific research equipment, etc.


        Compared with thousands of bionic hand products in foreign countries and many domestic bionic hand products still in the laboratory stage, The Dexterous Hands is a kind of product that colleagues in the industry have been looking for a long time. Because the humanoid five-finger bionic hand has 6 degrees of freedom and 12 motion joints, the binding force is a hybrid control algorithm, which can simulate human hands to achieve accurate grasping operation. The finger pressure resolution of 0.5N can meet the requirements of grabbing soft objects such as grapes and tofu.

Application scenarios are wide. Teleoperation Solution makes its debut

The integrated servo drive unit, which is more convenient to use, opens up a new technical route for the design of robots, medical equipment and automation equipment, and has a very wide range of application prospects and commercial value. Due to the timing of the servo control system, mainly for robot enterprises.

In addition to robot bionic hand, micro linear servo system can also be applied in parallel cooperation of bionic robot, traditional Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis of medical instruments, rotating steering gear in the consumer field, propeller of airplane model and other skeletal mechanical hands.

This exhibition, Inspire Robots also exhibited the latest teleoperation manipulator. According to the author's understanding, this is actually a set of "teleoperation solution", completed by the cooperation of four domestic robot companies.

According to the person in charge of the booth, the control end of the whole program is composed of a dynamic capture system and a force feedback exoskeleton manipulator, which can collect the position information of human arms and the grip strength information of fingers, and feedback the actual force of the robot end to the exoskeleton manipulator, realizing force perception and force transmission; The end of the robot consists of a mobile chassis, a two-arm cooperative robot and a dexterous hand, which can switch between autonomous motion and remote control.


In fact, force perception and force control are the most important parts of teleoperation. At the present stage, due to the environment perception, object recognition and positioning, as well as the decision, planning and control technology is not mature, the robot in most of the environment is still unable to achieve fully autonomous decision-making and autonomous operation. Therefore, man-machine cooperative teleoperation can be regarded as an effective scheme in the current technological development stage.
